Since becoming Shildon Town Council Mayor in May this year Peter Quinn has worked tirelessly to raise funds for the Mayors Causes, which include a publicly accessible Defibrillator, delivery of a Dementia Friendly Older Peoples Event planned for next March 2020 and future plans to support other Shildon based causes which provide support to the community.

With his current total far above his expectations at this point, he is now able to move ahead and get his main priority cause implemented. The order was placed and this wonderful new town assets arrived last week. The electrician has already been called and it is hoped that this essential life saving device will be up and running by the end of this week. Once in place it will be registered as part of the Nation-Wide network of Publicly Accessible Defibrillators which provide accessible to residents from Lands’ End to John o' Groats to these lifesaving pieces of equipment. This is a first for Shildon in so far as it will be accessible to residents 24/7/365.

On behalf of all Shildon Residents, we would like to thank the Mayor Peter Quinn for his fund-raising prowess and public minded spirit. We wish him continued success in his fundraising endeavours which the town and its residents will be the main benefactors.
