Jubilee Fields Community Centre staff and volunteers again hosted Durham County Council’s Big Spring Clean, with the support of Shildon Town Council, Shildon Alive, Shildon Youthy, Livin, PCP -Well Being For Life, Foundation of Light and the Shildon Community Police Team, as well as all the children, young people, mums n dads who were all on hand to give the Jubilee Fields Community Centre and surrounding area a big spring clean-up.

The morning began with a big hello from the staff and volunteers at Jubilee Fields Community Centre welcoming everyone to the event. The Town Mayor and Councillor Luan Deakin was on hand to offer her support to the children and to thank them for their involvement. Finally, after the Litter Pick safety talk, Tidy Ted came to visit the children and wave them off on this year’s Big Spring Clean Litter Pick.

The event is supported by Durham County Council, Civic Pride Team and Clean & Green who provided all of the litter picking equipment on the day. Funding support from Shildon Town Council enabled refreshments and entertainment to be provided for the children and young people who attended.

From everyone at Jubilee Fields Community Centre, thank you all for your continued support and helping to reduce the impact of rubbish locally for children and young people in and around Jubilee Fields Community Centre.

Please remember to ‘Don’t drop it, bin it!’ - Thank you.
