The annual litter pick and Easter Fun activities took place on Wednesday 11th April and was well attended with the Town Mayor, Councillor Shirley Quinn on hand to welcome the children and Tidy Ted to the event.

There were 34 children involved, who were supported by mums, dads, staff and volunteers from local organisations who all contributed towards this fun event.
The litter pick was part of Durham County Council’s Big Spring Clean and all equipment was supplied by their Civic Pride Team. The children concentrated their efforts around the Jubilee Fields estate and collected 10 large bags of assorted rubbish.

The afternoon was rounded off with Easter arts activities, followed by refreshments before the Disco, Face Paining and games and raffle got underway.

Shildon Police kindly provided their staff to deliver free bicycle marking for the children and also got involved as Judges for a dancing competition.
